Process of Getting a Canada Tourist Visa from India

Getting a tourist visa for Canada is simple if you follow the below-mentioned steps -

STEP 1 - Apply Visa Online

Applying online saves you mail delivery time and courier fees and is processed quickly. Also, the online application enables you to check everything thoroughly before you hit submit. If your application still needs to be completed, it will be sent back to you for corrections. You don’t have to submit the passport with it if you have not asked otherwise. The best part is that you can get updates on the visa application on your account online.

STEP 2 - Give Biometrics

In most cases, you are required to give biometrics - fingerprints and a photo. The fee for this has to be paid in the first step and then you will receive a request to give biometrics in 30 days.

STEP 3 - Medical Examination

The Canada tourist visa application will be processed and if any incomplete/incorrect document is found, the application will be sent to you without processing. You may be asked to give an interview with officials and get a medical examination done. After your application is processed, your passport and original documents submitted earlier will be returned to you. If approved, your visa will be stamped and if refused, an application will be sent.

STEP 4 - On Arrival Checking

Once you land at the airport, the officer will check your identity through fingerprints to ensure you are the same individual who was granted permission to enter Canada.

STEP 5 - Visa Stamp

After you pass the identity checks and the officer is satisfied, he/she may stamp your passport and let you know about the duration of your stay in Canada, which is generally up to 6 months.
