The Australia immigration chooses qualified individuals from around the globe. If you want to apply as a skilled worker under one of these five immigration streams, you must obtain at least 65 points under the points-based program:

  • Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)

  • Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)

  • Graduate Temporary Visa (Subclass 485)

  • Skilled Nominated or Sponsored visa (Provisional) (Subclass 489)

  • Skilled Regional Visa (subclass 887)

The majority of professions have their own distinct authorities for conducting skills evaluations, such as VETASSESS, Engineers Australia, MedBA (Medical Board of Australia), TRA (Trades Recognition Australia), etc. Only skills assessments provided by the appropriate assessing authority are recognised by the Australian government. An individual must get in touch with the appropriate assessing authority to secure a skills assessment and receive their evaluation.

 • General Skilled Migration (GSM) visas include the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189), the Skilled Regional provisional visa (subclass 489), the Skilled Regional (provisional) visa, and the Skilled Work Regional (provisional) visa (subclass 491).

Step 3: Take the English language test

You must achieve the required level of proficiency in English. You should take the required English language test for this. The Australian Immigration Department accepts results from a variety of English proficiency exams, including IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, and others. You can therefore take any of these exams to receive the required score.

Step 4: Choose your profession from the Australia Skilled Occupation List (SOL)

You can choose your profession from one of the lists below:

  • Short-term Skilled Occupation List (SOL)

  • Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List (CSOL)

  • Medium and long-term Strategic Skills List (MTSSL)

Step 5: Register your expression of interest

Send in your Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Skill Select website in Australia. Please be sure to complete the online application with all necessary information.

Step 6: Receive your invitation to apply (ITA)

You will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for your PR visa if your application satisfies all of the conditions. Monthly invitation rounds for PR applicants are held by the Australian government. The ITAs can change based on the number of applicants for the nominated occupation, the current occupation ceiling, the season, and other factors.

The number of applications the immigration office receives and processes in a particular month may also have an impact on the number of invites issued. The number of invitations issued can also change depending on how many applications the immigration service processes within a given month.

The applicants with the greatest scores in the points grid are asked to apply for the appropriate visa. Invitation procedures and cut-offs Priority is given to candidates who initially achieved their points score under the subclass they have applied for when there are multiple applicants with equal scores. In a similar vein, expressions of interest received earlier have priority over those submitted later.

Step 7: Submit your request for a PR

After receiving your ITA, submit your PR application within 60 days. All necessary supporting documentation for processing your PR visa must be included with the application. These include:

  • personal records

  • immigration paperwork

  • Experience-based documentation

Step 8: Get your clearance certificates

The police and medical clearance certificates must be submitted next. Following a medical exam, you must submit your medical clearance certificate.

Step 9: Receive your visa approval

Receiving your visa grant is the last step post which only you should book your flight and accommodation in Australia.

This is the general procedure you must follow in order to submit your Australia PR visa application in 2022.
