What is a good IELTS score for Canada PR Visa?

Due to the low cost of living, excellent quality of education, availability of employment upon graduation, and secure atmosphere, many Indians move to Canada for higher education. Additionally, a lot of experts from India are eager to immigrate to Canada for employment due to the relatively simple requirements for permanent residency. Many Canadian provinces have extended the chance for qualifying international university graduates to obtain permanent residence. But to qualify for that, you must have a strong IELTS score. You will precisely read about the IELTS score needed for Canada PR in 2022 in this article.

IELTS is one of the examinations for English language competency recognised by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Applying for a Canadian visa on your own is a challenging and drawn-out process. There are several ways to obtain Permanent Resident status in Canada, but the key to a successful application is selecting the one that best meets your particular requirements.

The minimum IELTS score required for Canada PR is CLB 7, and each exam section, including the speaking, reading, and writing portions, must score at least 6.0. If you wish to use the express entry programme to apply for Canadian permanent residency, you must reach this milestone.

IELTS for Express Entry Program

A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 in each of the test's four components, or CLB 7, is needed to submit an express entry application for permanent residency in Canada. A point-based system is used by the Canada Express Entry programme to evaluate applications. Finding candidates with the best chances of succeeding if they relocate to Canada is the procedure' main goal. This assesses you and your spouse's age, degree of education, language proficiency, employment history (including any outside of Canada), other work history, etc.

Every express entry draw has a minimum cut-off score determined by the express entry points system. These draws take place on a regular basis. If the applicants obtain a CRS score equal to or higher than the cut-off score, they will get an ITA. In case you and another candidate both achieve scores that are identical to the cut-off score, the applicant with the longest history in the expedited entry pool will be sent an ITA.

To pass express admission, you must obtain 67 points out of 100 under various eligibility requirements. The IELTS score calculator for Express Entry is based on:

• AGE: If you are between the ages of 18 and 35, you can get additional points. Less points will be awarded to you if your age is higher.

• EDUCATION: You can earn the most points if your qualifications fulfil the requirements. Your minimal educational requirement must be on par with Canada's higher secondary education level.

• WORK EXPERIENCE: You can earn the most points if you have a year of professional experience. You will receive more points if you have more years of job experience.

• ADAPTABILITY: You can earn 10 points in Canada if you have family or other close relations living there to help you out when you relocate there. If your spouse is prepared to immigrate to Canada with you, you can get bonus points.

• ARRANGED EMPLOYMENT: You will receive ten points if a legitimate job offer comes from a Canadian firm.

Candidates are given points in express entry based on a CRS, or comprehensive ranking system. You will have a better chance of receiving an invitation to apply for an ITA for Canadian permanent residency if you receive more points based on the aforementioned reasons.

IELTS score for spousal immigration

Only one's spouse or legal partner is covered under spousal application for Canadian immigration. By retaking a language exam or getting an educational credential assessment (ECA) for any post-secondary degree they may have, your spouse or partner may enhance your express entrance points. Your spouse or partner can help you get additional points in this way. You might perform better if you are the only applicant. But you may actually improve your score if you describe your relationship as non-accompanying because your profile is rated differently depending on whether or not you have an accompanying spouse or partner depending on your partner's profile.

Although there will be some time spent apart, you can still sponsor them to Immigrate to Canada if you are given permanent residence. If your spouse is a more qualified applicant, you can guess how many points they would receive if they submitted the main application, whether you were there to support them or not.

For candidates who have a spouse or partner, the spouse or partner's first language proficiency is worth 20 points, with five points awarded for each of the other four languages. Therefore, if the spouse likewise takes language exams, CRS points might be earned. You can submit a profile to the express entry pool and designate each other as your accompanying party if you and your spouse or partner are both strong candidates.

How to apply for a PR Visa through FSWP?

The Canada Federal Skilled Worker program (FSWP) is one of the three programs contained within Canada’s Express Entry system for processing immigration applications. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is used to rank applicants for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program, which is administered through the Express Entry system.

Federal Skilled Workers are not required to have Canadian work experience in order to be considered for the Express Entry pool, in contrast to candidates for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Instead, applicants must obtain a minimum score based on qualifications like education, work experience, and language proficiency. Those applicants who received the highest CRS scores will be invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence after being placed in the pool.

Canada Federal Skilled Worker program Eligibility requirements

To apply for a Canada PR visa through the FSWP, applicants need to fulfil the following requirements:

1. Language proficiency

It is crucial to be able to speak in English or at least one of the nation's official languages in order to apply for a study visa, permanent residency, or work permit. The same goes for applying for Canada's Federal Skilled Worker visa; you must be fluent in either French or English, or both. Based on your abilities to write, read, listen, and speak, your language skills in English and French are worth up to 28 points. Additionally, you need to demonstrate your language skills by passing an approved language exam.

2. Educational qualification

You need a certificate, diploma, or degree from a high school or post-secondary institution if you have studied in Canada. You must submit an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report if your education was done outside of Canada. A maximum of 25 points may be given for education.

3. Working experience

Your work experience is worth a maximum of 15 points. You need to have one year of equivalent part-time or full-time experience in a skilled occupation for this. Additionally, you must have been employed in a profession that falls under National Occupation Classification Skill Level 0, A, or B.

4. Age

Your age will determine a maximum of 12 points. The age factor's point grid is shown below.

5. Job Arrangements in Canada

You will receive a maximum of 10 points if you have a job offer from a Canadian company. A legitimate job offer must also be for a position that falls within Skilled Type 0, A, or B of the NOC, and it must be for at least one year of full-time employment.

6. Adaptability

If you are applying with your spouse then, you can raise the score by including your spouse's qualifications, such as their schooling, professional background, and language skills.

7. Evidence of Funds

Candidates who are unable to receive a job offer from a Canadian business must demonstrate that they are financially capable of settling in Canada. The proof of finances is additionally based on the applicant's family size.

Steps to apply for FSWP

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

If you meet the minimum qualifications, use the Federal Skilled Worker points calculator above or the point grid to see if you can earn a minimum of 67 points.

Step 2: Create an Express Entry profile

The three documents listed below must be submitted to IRCC in order to build your Express Entry profile (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

  • Identity proof: A current passport
  • Assessment of Educational Credentials (ECA)
  • Scores of a language proficiency test

Each applicant for the FSW Canada draw is examined for criminal and medical inadmissibility. Therefore, in addition to these 3 documents, you must also submit the following:

  • Report of a medical examination from a panel doctor recognised by the IRCC
  • A police clearance document from the neighborhood police department
  •  Letters from former employers confirming employment

Check your CRS Score before moving on to the next step. If it falls below the standard cut-off score, an immigration specialist can advise you on how to raise it.

Step 3: Obtain an application invitation (ITA)

An applicant will have 60 days to submit an electronic Application for Permanent Residence if they are successful in acquiring an ITA for Canadian PR (eAPR).

Step 4: Reviewing your application and obtaining Canadian permanent residence

Your application will be examined by a representative of Canadian Immigration, who will tell you of any additional information needed. If everything goes according to plan, your application will be accepted and a document confirming your permanent residency (COPR) will be sent.

Step 5: Apply for a PR card

You can then submit an application for your PR card after receiving your status confirmation. You may use this card as evidence of your Canadian residency when leaving the country.

The Express Entry program, oversees the FSWP, regularly selects applicants from its candidate pool to invite them to submit applications for Canadian permanent residency. Candidates are only permitted to apply for Canadian permanent residence after receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
